Aloe hemmingii (often confused with the much larger Aloe harlana) is native to Somalia, forms rosettes under 6" tall and about 6" to 8" in diameter with light milky green leaves banded transversely with deeper green in reptilian patterns. Tubular pale pink flowers on spikes are frequently visited by hummingbirds. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Full to part sun for best color. Prefers ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch.
Part of what makes succulents so fascinating are the myriad ways they express themselves throughout the year, depending on light, season, temperature, soil, and hydration. For those and other reasons, the plants you receive may not look exactly as they appear on our website.
