Description

Sempervivum calcareum, native to high altitudes of France and Italy, forms very geometric, densely packed rosettes of blue-green leaves with reddish-purple tips. An absolutely profuse offsetter, hence the "hen n' chicks" nickname, and tolerant of cold like few other succulents. Plant in clusters, whether in landscape or dish gardens. In time, a mat could reach 20 inches in diameter.
